Sydney singer songwriter is the daughter of a Test cricketer and a painter, and has lived in Perth, Harare, London and now Sydney. Although she has worked in film as a visual artist, Catherine’s love of music has always been her passion. A classically trained musician and self taught guitarist, Catherine scored rave reviews for her second album “The Amazing’ in 2009, with Inpress Magazine declaring “Quite simply, it has superstar (with integrity) written all over it... Traicos is destined for big, honourable things. The Amazing is an important step in that journey – an important record – as well as the heralding of a valuable new talent, and real music fans would be mad not to own it”. Melbourne Magazine likened her to Gillian Welch and PJ Harvey, while Sydney Morning Herald referenced Cowboy Junkies and Beth Orton. 2011 sees Catherine drop her first single “Beg For Love” in February with a quick tour. The single is from new album ‘The Love Inside” - due for release later this year.

Family Vacation Tour

Three of Australia’s finest blues/roots acts - Chase The Sun, Cass Eager & The Velvet Rope together with Claude Hay join forces to hit the road for the inaugural Rhythm Section Management Annual Family Vacation Tour.

Claude, Cass and Chase The Sun share their roots in blues, but sound-wise they sit on different branches of the family tree. Claude does his stomping one-man-band vibe, Cass Eager and her band The Velvet Rope bring the sound of soul, and Chase The Sun take care of ‘The Rock’.

Each of these artists released new material in 2010 to critical acclaim, and all have been appearing at major festivals Australia-wide this past year, while also making inroads into the international market. Claude Hay’s new album ‘Deep Fried Satisfied’ hit the US Billboard chart at #9 in November, bettering Chase The Sun’s previous best of #13 by four positions. Talk about your sibling rivalry. Soul sister Cass graced the top ten of the indie Canadian Charts, so she’s not taking any rubbish whatsoever from her boisterous brothers on this trip.

All three artists are booked by Rhythm Section Management, and have releases on the Only Blues Music label. The Family Vacation Tour will be the first opportunity they’ve had to tour extensively together as a bonded family unit. So while each is worth the price of admission on their own, this is one triple-bill to get you off the hammock as it arrives at a holiday hot spot near you.

Joe Bonamassa (USA)

www.jbonamassa.com

He’s been lauded as one of the world’s greatest guitarists and he is fast evolving into a full-blown truly charismatic and mesmerising blues-rock star, as well as a singer-songwriter of depth and emotional resonance. He is 33 year old New Yorker Joe Bonamassa, and he’s heading back to Australia for his second visit in May 2011.

Born to parents who ran a guitar shop, Joe Bonamassa is a 4th generation musician who has played guitar almost since his hands could grasp one. At the age of 10, he caught the ear of BB King, who declared “This kid's potential is unbelievable. He hasn't even begun to scratch the surface. He's one of a kind.” By age 12, Bonamassa was opening shows for King, and went on to tour with such luminaries as Buddy Guy, Robert Cray, Stephen Stills, Joe Cocker and Gregg Allman.

King was correct; Bonamassa hadn’t yet even scratched the surface. 21 years later, Joe Bonamassa is selling out shows at venues such as London’s Royal Albert Hall (where he was joined for an impromptu song by Eric Clapton), recording with BB King (on the recent Black Rock album), taking home Breakthrough Artist of The Year and Best Blues Guitarist awards, regularly topping Billboard charts and earning ever-more critical acclaim with each new release and seemingly every live show.

A prolific performer and collaborator, Bonamassa has released 8 studio solo albums to date, and as a member of new “supergroup” Black Country Communion, launched their self titled album in September 2010. Black Country Communion’s rock lineage is undeniable; Deep Purple’s Glenn Hughes, Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin, Foreigner) and Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Billy Idol, Alice Cooper) alongside Joe Bonamassa.

But Bonamassa hasn’t stopped there, with a 9th solo studio album currently being recorded and scheduled for release in March 2011, and an Australian tour just announced for May 2011.

Tracy McNeil

www.myspace.com/tracymcneilmusic

Canadian singer songwriter Tracy McNeil moved to Melbourne in 2007 with only her suitcase and her highly acclaimed debut album Room Where She Lives, just three short days after its release in Canada. Recorded in Toronto with the love, support and musical input of her brother Logan, the album proved a classic debut, brimming with authentic country and roots songs born of a nation that has a long and distinguished history of producing such talented artists.

Moving to Melbourne was something of a risk, but it paid off almost immediately. Tracy worked hard, playing solo shows all across the formidable musical city that is Melbourne, gaining the respect of her peers and critics alike. Something of a masterstroke in hindsight started out in the most humble of ways when Tracy joined local singer songwriter Jordie Lane to form Fireside Bellows.

The release of No Time To Die, a stunning album on all fronts, came in 2008. Showcasing their obvious musical chemistry No Time To Die honours a mutual love for American roots music whilst staying true to the talents both artists have as individual musicians.

The album, and the duo, received rave reviews. After a sold out launch,, Fireside Bellows hit the road, playing festivals including the Port Fairy Folk Festival, Brunswick Music Festival and Queenscliff, before supporting the Eileen Jewell Band and their heroes, Old Crow Medicine Show, at the Forum.

After that long and successful run with Fireside, Tracy has returned to her solo material with a pocket full of songs and a stellar band featuring Matt Green, Bree Hartley and Rod Boothroyd. With three years passing since the release of Room Where She Lives, McNeil’s desire make a follow up record was nagging her. 2011 will finally see the album released, slated for a May release.
